My 54th Valentine’s Day!

My niece and nephew have turned 19 and 15 in the last year.  They are enjoying  school dances and their friends.

It seems like only yesterday that I was in high school!

I wouldn’t trade anything for the love in my life now, and Valentine’s Day is a wonderful reminder of that.

Bruce and I started dating in 1983 after meeting in an exercise class at the YMCA in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  It met for 3 nights a week after work for 10 or 12 weeks, so we knew each other quite well by the end!

A year later we married in Danbury, CT near where I had grown up in Newtown.  It was very romantic, we were married on my Grandparent’s 50th anniversary.  I knew that would be a great day because my Grandma and Grandpa King loved each other so much.  We all cried when they danced together at the reception, because my Grandmother had been badly injured in a car accident and just let the moment take her so that she could dance with my Grandfather.  It was magical.

Bruce and I lived in Milwaukee -then Raleigh NC – then Irvine, CA – then in the Yardley, PA area near Philadelphia for the last 20 years.

We had great examples of lifelong love from both sets of grandparents, and our parents as well.

My parents have been married 55 years and are so cute together.

I love my whole family, and am still crazy in love with my husband!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Lovely post, Sally! I still have three of four grandparents living (longevity runs on both sides of my family) and my maternal grands have been married for over 60 years. Had their ups and downs, but always supported each other. 🙂 This post made me think of them!
