The Delaware River when we haven’t had much rain!

The Delaware River is so beautiful.  I love to go for walks with my husband and my dog at many different parks and areas on both sides of the river.

This was a walk that we went on across the “Trenton Makes” bridge between Morrisville, PA and Trenton, NJ.  It is a really nice bridge with a good walkway on the North side of the bridge that is easy with my walker.

The water is normally much higher, and fisherman do not usually walk across!

Hope you get some rain soon. Droughts aren’t much fun, we’ve recently just gotten over a widespread drought over here and of course now it keeps raining and flooding everywhere. You just can’t win with the weather.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, the weather extremes are bizarre lately. We have had a number of floods over the last few years in the same area.

Is this damage irreversible? Thats sad.

    • April 20, 2012 at 2:10 pm

No David, it is just a temporary issue. This is a very active and vital river, and the levels change dramatically overnight. Thanks for your comment.

The rivers where I live in Spain are nearly always dry. Although I did go to the mountains, the Pyrenees, last week and saw some rivers with water. I wished I still had my kayak.

That is interesting. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

Thank goodness this is only temporary. We here in California always have a water shortage but we don’t see it first hand like this! Thanks for the pictures and story and here’s to more rain!!!

If I could ship some of NZ’s rain over to you – you’d be welcome to it! We never really got a summer and now its well into winter – NOT happy!
