Philadelphia Art Museum

I love the Philadelphia Art Museum!  The first Sunday of the month is “Pay What You Want”.   I am so glad that they do this so that we can enjoy the museum even when money is tight.

Here are some of my favorite pieces from the museum-

Van Gogh painted lots of sunflowers!  Here is a website that teaches us about this series and subject.

Monet – beautiful and peaceful http://www.claudemonetgallery.org/

Renoir – always beautiful http://www.philamuseum.org/collections/permanent/82727.html

Degas – ballet is a favorite muse – Paintings and sculpture http://www.edgar-degas.org/

We have very similar taste! I love the sunflower series, but not many of his others. The colors are so vibrant and happy.

Monet & Degas are two of my favorite artists.

Japanese footbridge, every time. When my daughter was small she did a copy of that painting that was featured in a children’s book about using famous artists to teach children art.

Thanks for sharing. I love art museums. Although I live in PA, I haven’t spent much time in Philly, except for work. I need to change that.
