What does Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs have to do with YOU?

This video is a great way to get the main points of Maslow’s theories.

A healthy and happy life combines family, romance, friends, physical workouts or sports, work, play, hobbies.

Have you ever heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs? This was a huge subject when I was studying psychology in Graduate School, and is so relevant to all of us, especially in this economy.

Here is a great introduction on about.com:

http://psychology.about.com/od/theoriesofpersonality/a/hierarchyneeds.htm

As we move up the ladder of having more than our basic needs and safety met, then we have more sophisticated needs.

In your work, you need to move up above the level of survival.  When you are stressed and in fear, you push yourself back down to the survival level.

We live in a wonderful time where you can leverage Social Media and the internet to learn, communicate, and to work!

If you don’t feel safe in your job or your income, developing an additional source of income often can help.  We can’t work around the clock, or we are not in a healthy balance.  You need to find something that you can do in a short amount of time a week that will have long term benefits financially.

If you are looking for a solid source of a second income to pay off debt, and build your future, then we can help you!  The 10K Challenge teaches you to work only 35 minutes a day towards your future income needs.  The system, training, and mentorship is offered to you for FREE.

No cost, no obligation!  Come join our team.

Maslow! Took me back to studying for my degree! It’s true though that our need do get more complex as we progress.

“In your work, you need to move up above the level of survival. When you are stressed and in fear, you push yourself back down to the survival level.” You get back into the mentality of lack which is not a great place to be. Like attracts like… Thanks for the great post!

Love the use of humor, Sally. Guess you and I are both dealing with Tier 2: Safety. You with your 10K challenge and me with my “financial security for women” efforts. I had never thought that through before. Hmmm …..

Wonderful, Sharon. Thanks for the comment!

When Grog was whittling the stick, I thought he was doing something else. But it turned out he wasn’t building a fire.
